Facilities Inventory Coordinator
"I was referred to Benchmark by a close friend of mine back in 2021, right after the COVID lockdown ended. I started out as a Barista in the Bistro with a whole crew of amazing people. In the evenings, I would help in Banquets with the evening activities. My first winter here, I assisted the facilities department during our yearly renovations. I really enjoyed learning new things with the team, which prompted me to transfer to Facilities, where I started as a Guestroom PM Tech. After some time, I was promoted to Guest Service Tech, and then again to my current position as Facilities Inventory Coordinator.
I have been Employee of the Month twice since being here and have had the privilege of becoming a Best of the Best award recipient. I participate in many activities offered to employees, such as corn hole tournaments, volleyball tournaments, pumpkin decorating, art shows, canned food drives, and family picnic day. The company holiday party is always beautifully planned and the best time to get fancy.
Everyone has always been so welcoming, helpful, patient, and kind. I have never worked for a company that supports their employees as much as Benchmark. They do so much to give back and help their employees; it’s probably my favorite perk about working here.
My favorite quote is “Kind people are my kind of people” by Germany Kent. This quote highlights the preference for individuals who are kind and compassionate, emphasizing that kindness is a desirable trait and a key factor in shaping positive relationships. The culture and the people at Benchmark easily represent that.
