Event & Meeting Manager

“In 2016, I started at Benchmark as an on-call server as a way to make extra money. I was in school at UNT (Go Eagles!) and looking to find something that could work with a hectic school schedule. Soon after graduation, I moved to the Event Management division as a Conference Concierge and learned time management, organization, professionalism and creative problem solving. Through the years I have had the opportunity to be a Banquet Server, Conference Concierge, Vendor & Event Operations Supervisor, Resource Coordinator, Resource Manager and most recently, an Event & Meetings Manager.

Each role has brought both personal and professional growth due to being led by incredible managers who chose to invest in their employees. I have been awarded the 110% Award, Employee of the Month and the Best of the Best Award. I have enjoyed participating in pumpkin decorating contests, coordinating soccer tournaments, helping create canned food sculptures and more with my peers here at DU. Culture is the most important aspect of a job to me – creating an environment that is supportive, encouraging and inclusive does not happen by accident. It is carefully curated by every person who walks the halls of DU.

Benchmark at DU has seen me through several different seasons in my life and I have been supported and encouraged in every one of them. Now, as a new mom, that means the most to me. They not only encourage you to be the difference in others’ lives, they actively find ways to be the difference in yours.”
